The Chicamocha Canyon is the perfect place for hiking, as you will have breathtaking views of the landscape throughout the hike. The hike generally begins in a sector of the canyon called “La Mojarra”. At the beginning of the hike you will be on the rim of the canyon at an altitude of about 1500 meters above sea level and 1000 meters above the canyon’s river.
The hike, which is included in this day trip, ends in Los Santos, a town with a beautiful central park located on the rim of the canyon. Beginning a steep hike up the canyon at about 300 meters altitude, you will gradually climb along the canyon to reach Los Santos. The advantage of this hike is that you will not have to endure the heat at the bottom of the canyon, as you will not descend all the way down to the river. The total hike takes you between 2 and 5 hours depending on your speed and the trail you take.
If you wish to hike down to the river or even cross the canyon to climb up the side, let us know and we will offer you another trail. However, this hike would have an additional cost as we have to provide a special transportation service.

- Meeting point: If your accommodation is in the city of Bucaramanga, we will pick you up and take you back at no additional cost.
- Schedule: It is recommended to start the day trip at 7 a.m. However, if you wish to start the tour earlier or later, we will be flexible and adapt the tour to your desired schedule. Usually in the afternoon we will start the trip back to Bucaramanga.
